This account depicts a beautiful picture of how Jesus chose to heal a man who was invalid for thirty-eight years even when he did not have the faith to see it happen

When Jesus passed by the Bethesda pool at the Sheep Gate, He met one man among the multitude of individuals who were there. Jesus stopped and asked him, "Do you want to be healed?" Instead of a resounding "Yes!", the man went on to complain saying "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me." Despite his response, Jesus declared and released healing upon him saying "Get up, pick up your mat, and walk." And at once the man was healed, and he picked up his mat and walked.

The word of Jesus broke the yoke of sickness and restored healing to the man. This story demonstrates for us that healing can be manifested through the faith of the one who is anointed to heal even in a circumstance where the one receiving healing has little or no faith. As a believer, we can apply this truth when we pray for the sick.
