When I saw this year's theme, I immediately thought of the blanket my grandmother sewed for me when I was a child. The blanket in my artwork represents an heirloom that a grandmother wants to give to her granddaughter because to her, it symbolises God's love to us (it shields us from the cold, keeps us warm, and provides us comfort). The grandmother hopes to use this blanket which is made up of pieces of cloth sewed with 7 highlights of the Bible and the 9 fruits of the Spirit to remind her grandchild that in times of need, God will always be present to us and as close to us as a comforting blanket.
