Inspired by Isa. 42:3 and Matt. 12:16-21, which illustrate the Hope and Promise given by God to people who look for Him and ask for help, I looked for reeds in the Singapore Botanic Gardens and found them by the lake. The reeds were next to dry land, which led to the idea of combining the wick and reeds for this artwork.

This artwork is about how God’s promise of freedom extends from events in Exodus to the New Testament. In Exodus, he freed His people from slavery; four thousand years later, He freed them from sin through Jesus. Through this, we can be encouraged to put our hope in God who is always faithful.
Jesus’ wonderful promise in John 15:5 assures me that all I did in His strength is never in vain. As a child of God, I experience His protective arm on my shoulders. He plants joy in my heart as I obey Him, bear fruit that glorifies His Name, and watch Him multiply them!
Keep calm in all situations and pray to God. Always believe in Him and know that God is in control. Always remember that God is willing to give us a second chance.
My piece illustrates God’s might and magnificence personified in Eagles. The silhouette of the big eagle is God and the small eagle is man. God promised His daily provision of strength for a believer through life when we fix our eyes upon Him, upon His cross. As we pray unceasingly and trust Him, He will empower us.
