The rainbow after the rain symbolises God’s covenant with man. This is the promise of God. God values our tears, hopes and joys, hence we can put our hope and trust in Him. The painting can be viewed from any direction, showing a journey of continuous discovery within the mind, spirit and soul.

Paglaom is a Bisaya (Filipino dialect) word which means Hope. “Paglaom Always” is an abstract illustration of a rainbow in dark hue. We remember the rainbow as a prominent symbol of hope in the Bible. “Paglaom Always” encourages us to hope at all times and cling to the Lord at all cost. God sometimes takes what is perfect and subjects us to a humble status so that a greater good might be accomplished. Take hope! This stage of suffering is merely a transitional period. Trust in His timing and His beautiful plans for you.
I chose the story of Noah and the ark because it shows a promise from God that is true up till today! I also chose it because I love animals.
My artwork depicts Father Abraham reaching his hands out toward the dark starry sky, in awe of the promise from God that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars. He had faith in God’s promise, and this was counted to him as righteousness. The painting is a rallying call to all Christians to have faith in God’s awesome promises and wait upon the Lord.
The birth of Jesus is the fulfilment of God’s promise. Through Jesus, we can have eternal life and be united with God again. Therefore, it is a joyous day when Jesus is born. And the rainbow is the sign of the covenant between God and us.
