Noah’s Ark

Artist: Toh Yik Han
Dimensions: 42 x 29.6 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Oil Pastel & Watercolour

This artwork shows Noah's Ark carrying the artist, Yik Han, with his father, mother, and sister, who are all hidden inside the structure. Animals are also depicted inside the picture, hiding within the Ark. Even though the young artist himself is not clear about the true meaning of Noah's Ark, his artwork carries the great love of God that lies beyond his imagination. The artist's optimism and happiness are illustrated through the smile that persists even in the midst of the heavy rain and storm - as he always believes that the sun will come after the rain. His artwork aims to deliver love and hope to all the people who need it, and also to encourage those who has lost hope to continue in hope with strong hearts and minds - to "smile through the stormy day".

Alive in the Ark

Artist: Matthew Leow Enyi
Dimensions: 41.8 x 29.6 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Oil Pastel & Poster Paint

I like to draw things that move – e.g. trucks, cars and ships. My artwork shows a very big ark with Noah’s family and animals in it. I imagined the ark to have a crane to carry cargo on it. God kept Noah’s family and every pair of creature alive in the ark according to His promise. The dove found no land to stand on, so it returned to the ark.

The Three Visitors and the Promise

Artist: Juanita Emma Moses
Dimensions: 40.5 x 30.6 x 1.6 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic, Crayons, & Oil Pastel

My picture depicts the promise that Abraham and Sarah received from the three visitors. God made a covenant with Abraham and said that Abraham will father a great nation. Later, three men visited Abraham and Sarah near the great trees of Mamre and said that God would give them a child the following year. Abraham and Sarah were already very old; and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. Nevertheless, His promise to them was fulfilled when Sarah gave birth to a son, Isaac, one year later. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90. I am glad that God always keeps his promises. This is the God we pray to, the God who loves us, and the God who has promised to save us through faith in Christ. I drew this picture as God fulfilled all the promises in Abraham's life and Abraham had great faith in God.

This is the Day that the Lord has made

God’s Promise, Abraham’s Hope

Artist: Ainsley Neo Kaixin
Dimensions: 37.5 x 27.2 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Oil Pastel, Watercolour, & Ink

I created this artwork to depict God's promise to Abraham that he would have children as many as the stars. Abraham had hope and believed God even though he was nearly 100 years old and was still childless. I drew a baby formed by stars in the sky because God kept His promise and Abraham eventually became a father of many nations. Hence, I learnt that as long as we have faith and believe in God's promise to give us a hope and a future, it will surely happen – just like the case with Abraham.

Abraham’s Descendants

Artist: Sing Yu Ze
Dimensions: 38 x 27.8 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Mixed Media

My artwork shows Abraham gazing at the stars and God promising him many descendants. For the black background, I used acrylic with a layer of glue on it to sprinkle the stars on. I coloured Abraham and the rock with colour pencils. This is one of the most iconic promises that God has made in the Bible as it marks the beginning of Israel.

The Lord Forgives Us

His Word is My Living Hope

Artist: Tan Un Sim Auristela
Dimensions: 27.8 x 37.2 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Poster Colour

The Bible contains all His promises. Whenever we are anxious or fearful, reading His Word gives us hope and comfort. He promised us – His children – that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He promised to protect and guide us (His children). Knowing all these, we can face our future with courage. Other than that, a rainbow is painted as the background. That is because the rainbow symbolizes that God is faithful and that He will not break His promises. The colours of the rainbow remind me of His beauty.

He is in Control

Artist: Tan Un Sim Auristela
Dimensions: 27.8 x 37.2 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Poster Colour

Genesis 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth. That was the beginning of His creation. He created everything from the largest to the smallest. He created the gigantic universe and the smallest cells in us. He created us and has the best plans for each and every one of us. We have hope because He is still in control.

He Walks With Me

Dimensions: 29.5 x 21 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Poster Colour

He promises to be with me all the time – whether it rains or shines. He holds my hand and never let it go. Through the rain, at times of trouble, He is always there. Thank you Lord, for walking with me, especially through the storms in my life; and for protecting me and holding me close.

Hope & Promises

Artist: Damien Soon En Tse
Dimensions: 42 x 29.9 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Watercolour

My artwork has four scenes from the Bible which depicts hope or promise. Noah's Ark: God promises to never flood the earth again: He set His rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Him and the earth. The Birth of Jesus Christ: It gives us hope that a Saviour has come to save all of us from evil. Jesus Christ feeds the 5000: This gives us hope that Jesus will always be there for us when we need him. Jesus Christ's resurrection: Jesus promised his disciples that after 3 days, He will rise from the dead.

I Will Be With You Always

Artist: Dayna Ruth Teo Xi En
Dimensions: 41 x 50.8 x 1.7 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic, Paint, & Clay

This artwork is inspired by the ascension of Christ where the disciples were told that He will come back again and also, by the promise He gave in Matthew 28:20 that He will be with us always until the end of the world.

A Ray of Hope to the Shepherds

Artist: Juanita Emma Moses
Dimensions: 42 x 29.9 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Colour Pencils, Crayons, Marker, & Oil Pastel

I chose the story of the shepherds receiving the news about the birth of Jesus as it brought hope not only to them but also to all of creation. The angel’s announcement certainly got the attention of the shepherds keeping watch over their flocks by night. But it was something else that sent them hurrying toward a manger in Bethlehem. It was HOPE. After hearing the good news, they spread the word concerning what had been told to them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed. After the shepherds witnessed the birth of Jesus, they returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. Their lives were changed. Similarly, we have hope of a renewed relationship with God and a hope of eternal life through Jesus’ birth.

Hope

Artist: Dennis Rufus
Dimensions: 42 x 29.9 cm

I hope that God will come one day and our eyes will see Him before we are taken along with Him.

Promise

Artist: Vincent Jairus
Dimensions: 42 x 29.9 cm
Finishing : Unframed

God promised that He will not destroy the world with a flood and created a rainbow. Every time the rainbow appears, it reminds us about God's promise.

Here He Comes Riding on the Clouds

Artist: Master Abel Low
Dimensions: 27.7 x 37.8 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Colour Pencils, Paint, & Marker

In my artwork, Jesus is depicted as descending onto earth riding on a cloud. He is triumphantly returning to earth to judge the living and the dead. There is colour pencil blending involved in my artwork as well as paint used. I thought of this because I read in the Bible that it is prophesied that He will one day return. My painting which shows His return thus gives hope to all Christians around the world that their Saviour has come to redeem them.

From the Cross to the Sky

Artist: Pearce Low
Dimensions: 29.9 x 42 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Poster Colour & Paint

The reason I wanted to do this artwork is so people can appreciate Christ the Lord.

God’s Unfailing Promise

Artist: Law Yi Xiang
Dimensions: 41.8 x 29.6 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Oil Pastel, Acrylic, & Watercolour

God's promises never change. When we believe in Jesus (God's only Son who died for us), our lives are filled with the promises of God. The drawing shows Jesus in the boat with my parents and me. The boat is our life. As promised, Jesus is with us, lives in us and He goes before us to lead us.

The Rainbow Covenant

Artist: Chan Jing Xuan Tiffany
Dimensions: 42 x 29.9 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Watercolour & Marker

I like the story of Noah's Ark and I like to draw rainbow and animals. Rainbow is beautiful. The rainbow in the story of Noah's Ark is a sign of God's everlasting covenant to Noah and all mankind – that He will never destroy the earth with a flood again. God is a covenant-keeping God. There are many promises in the Bible. Whenever I see a rainbow, I am reminded and reassured that God will keep His Word (promises) because He loves us, and gives us hope that will not disappoint.

Flood Runner

Artist: Choo Le Xuan, Joy
Dimensions: 31.8 x 29.5 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Acrylic Paint

The world is about to be flooded and there are still obstacles between the snails and the Ark. The sea between the Ark and the snails represents the obstacles the snails have to overcome in order to be safe from the flood. I chose to illustrate this because the Ark, which represents God, provides a sense of hope that motivates everyone – that no matter who you are, to face all your challenges and not give up.

As Many As The Stars

Artist: Ashrael Low
Dimensions: 41.8 x 59.2 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Acrylic Paint

My artwork depicts Father Abraham reaching his hands out toward the dark starry sky, in awe of the promise from God that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars. He had faith in God's promise, and this was counted to him as righteousness. The painting is a rallying call to all Christians to have faith in God's awesome promises and wait upon the Lord.

A Future and a Hope

Artist: Amelia Foo Rui
Dimensions: 40.5 x 50.3 x 1.6 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Oil & Marker Pen

A promise is always most treasured when you are down and out. When you are at your lowest, you cannot imagine happiness. That is why we need to have a mental image that gives us hope. Israel had been in exile when Jeremiah gave this promise from God. So I imagine that their mental image is the land which was promised to them in Joshua 1 – where God promises to bring them back to their homeland.

You are My Sun, My Moon, and All My Stars

Artist: Jessica Quah
Dimensions: 60.4 x 60.4 x 1.2 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Oil on Canvas

This is a dynamic symbolic work depicting Hope. A hooded girl in a freezing landscape beholding light (sun, moon, stars) falling from the skies. She brings these to another at the edge of the cliff where light is dim, finite and extinguishing.

Great Calm

Artist: Chang Hwee Nee, Elise
Dimensions: 24.2 x 29.2 x 49.5 cm
Finishing : Sculpture
Medium: Clay-Pottery

We may face many ‘storms' in our lives, but the Bible reminds us that there is hope. Just as Jesus was in control of the storm in Mark 4:35-41, God is in control of all our lives. The hands that calmed the storm are the very hands that lead us, guide us and protect us.

Eternity

Artist: Ong Wei Ling Melina
Dimensions: 59.4 x 84.2 x 0.1 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Watercolour

My artwork is about 'Eternity'. A place to go after my death brings me hope because our earthly life is perishable. However, accepting Jesus into my life brings hope and His Word in John 14:2 (NIV) gives me the assurance I need: "My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?"

Rahab Hides the Two Spies

Artist: Grace Poon Yick Hoh
Dimensions: 61 x 76.2 x 3.6 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Oil

This artwork draws its inspiration from the book of Joshua, where Joshua, son of Nun, sent two spies to Jericho; before Israel seize the first city in the promised land. The destruction of Jericho is a miracle.

Glory to Glory

Artist: Audrey Phung
Dimensions: 30.6 x 40.5 x 1.7 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit." (2 Cor. 3:18, NASB) Whenever I see butterflies, God reminds me of the beautiful freedom He blesses us with. We may go through seasons where we feel like a caterpillar crawling slowly like a worm, or cocooned up and nothing seems to be achieved. Yet, these are seasons that the Lord is working deeply inside of us to transform us into His image to become like Him. The butterfly reminds me to see myself the way God sees me as my future self: From redemption to sanctification into God's glorious presence. Christ in us our hope of glory (Col 1:27). Our current challenges are a phase of life that will pass. It is necessary to complete this phase in order to move on to the next. Sometimes, this phase of life may seem "cocooned" - as though nothing is happening. Yet, a deep internal transformation is taking place. In due time, a beautiful butterfly will emerge, flying freely, pollinating and bring about fruit to others. You can become a blessing to others too, in due season. Do not give up on hope. Christ in us, the hope of glory. "In view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans 12:1-2 NIV)

New Every Morning

Artist: Hu Shuling
Dimensions: 37.6 x 27.6 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Acrylic, Ink, & Oil Pastel

In a particularly dark time in my life, I awoke to this beautiful sight of amazing cirrus clouds painted over the blue morning sky. It was a comforting reminder of the hope and promise that His steadfast love never ceases and his mercies never end - they are new every morning! Great is thy faithfulness!

We are always tempted, but there is Hope in God for deliverance

Artist: Mrs Ruth Ngoh
Dimensions: 30.6 x 40.5 x 1.7 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

From painting Heaven and hell, I found a disgusting and tempting face of the evil one. Men will tend to look heavenward when at a crossroad of great temptation, but the Bible already told us that God will make a way for those who trust in Him till the end.

Consider the Lilies

Artist: Gan Su Susan
Dimensions: 31.5 x 31.5 x 1.15 cm
Finishing : Stitch Board
Medium: Mixed Media

I used oil pastel-coloured felt to make lilies to remind us to consider the lilies which are so beautifully clothed by God. God cares for the lilies which are here today and gone tomorrow, and His promise is that He will provide for us too. I also made white lilies of the valley on the right to remind us to consider the Lily of the Valley, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is holy and humble and came into the world to die on the cross to save sinners such as us so that we can have hope!

New Every Morning

Artist: Gan Su Susan
Dimensions: 31.5 x 31.5 x 1.15 cm
Finishing : Stitch Board
Medium: Mixed Media

I made this piece to remind us of God's promise that His mercies and compassion are new every morning. The felt spring blossoms are meant to bring to mind a new season. God is faithful. After the flood, He promised that as long as the earth remains, the cycles would continue predictably. This is God's grace towards His creation. The birds, small as they are, which sing at the dawn of each new day, are also under God's care. Because God is so merciful, faithful and loving, we can place our trust and hope in Him!

The Promise of Messiah

Artist: Eva Yen
Dimensions: 45.5 x 61.1 x 3.5 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board

"I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life." (John 8:12 NLT)

The Promised Land

Artist: Wong Choy Foong
Dimensions: 40.5 x 30.6 x 1.8 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Mixed Media

God does not lead you into wilderness to harm you. He leads you there to completely depend on Him. The dry places will bring you into a deeper intimacy with Him and you will no longer view Him as being far away. You will come to know Him in closeness and confidence. God always keeps His promises. He has the power to make them, and He has the power to fulfil them.

The Coming 再来

Artist: Geraldine Yu
Dimensions: 60.2 x 70.1 x 1.8 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

God gave us a sign through the parable of the fig tree. When the twigs get tender and its leaves appear, we know that summer is near. When we see revival in Israel, we know the day when the Lord is coming for us is near. This promise gives us great hope and endurance, knowing that all these will come to pass. Heaven and earth will pass away, but His words will never pass away - His promises never fail.

Blessings in Various Forms

Artist: Lyn Wong Lin Chun
Dimensions: 55.9 x 38.3 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Watercolour

God promised Abraham that his descendants will have Canaan as their homeland. (Genesis 26:4-5) As the Israelites were leaving Egypt to cross over to their Promised Land in the desert, they yearned for something different besides their daily diet. In God's grace, He provided them with manna at dawn and quail at twilight. (Exodus 16:10-16) God always keep His promises. Besides our basic needs, He even provides us with extras. It reminds us that God's grace and blessings are aplenty. We should work harder to extend His Kingdom. Better things are yet to come. The lily symbolises purity, hope, and life in Jesus Christ.

Hands of Hope

Artist: Huang Tianqi
Dimensions: 57.5 x 41.2 x 1.9 cm
Finishing : Framed
Medium: Mixed Media

There are moments in our lives where despair and doubt seem to be very real to us, but God's presence with us gives us the Hope and the Promise that He is near, that He is our help in time of need. God knows the storms in any situations we've had. While our doubt of His grace and capability to provide for us often causes us to sink into the water, He never fails to always shower us with His mercy. He sent Jesus to give us hands of hope while we are in the mist. He will help us to complete our life journey.

Withered

Artist: Finy Matthew
Dimensions: 51.1 x 36.2 cm

The work depicts withered grass and wild flowers. What was once vibrant and alive is now withered and bowed against the fading evening light.

Reminiscing

Artist: Finy Matthew
Dimensions: 25.7 x 36.1 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Watercolour

The look in the old man's eyes has hope even as he reminisces a life lived long and well. It reminded me of my Sunday school lessons about long life. The intention of this piece is to capture the inner feelings of the subject in a loose carefree style rather than the finesse of portrait drawings.

Hope

Promised Land

Artist: Song Siyuan
Dimensions: 60.2 x 50.3 x 1.7 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

Abraham went to the land which God planned for him to go by leaving his country, his people, and his father's household. It is a blessing that he responded to God with obedience. This story reminds us to do what God has told us with strong faith and full obedience. God never promised the absence of storms in our lives, but He did promise to walk with us through them.

Hopes and Promises of the Bible

Artist: Siak Swee Eng
Dimensions: 51 x 41 x 1.8 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Mixed Media

My painting is in semi-abstract form. It shows briefly the 3 aspects of a Christian life. On the bottom right hand corner of the picture, it depicts pre-believers as represented by the colours of sin (i.e. evil, wickedness, disbelief, greed). There are also believers who are led astray by the evil one. However, 1 John 1:9 clearly gives the hope and promise of God's forgiveness. The centre of my painting is painted in green which represents salvation, repentance, restoration, growth, and most importantly, faith. The musical notes, the opened door to receive pre-believers, the crucifix, the bible, the open palms are icons of joy, eternity, God's Word and faith. Lastly, the Dove is the symbol of the Holy Spirit and also represents God and His Unconditional Love. His Heart which I have painted in yellow indicates the supreme power of God, His blessings, His promises and hope as recorded in the Bible.

Promise Love Hope

In the Twinkling of an Eye

Artist: Gan Su Susan
Dimensions: 46 x 36 x 1.8 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the debt for our sins, and He rose again. He has gone to prepare a place for believers in Heaven, and has promised that He will come again for us. When He comes again, believers will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye (the time it takes for light to reflect off an eye), at the last trumpet, from corruptible to incorruptible, from mortal to immortal. We will meet Him in the air, and be with Him forevermore! Believe in Him, and share our blessed hope!

Shalom Navigator

Artist: Sylvia Foo Mei-Lian
Dimensions: 51 x 51 x 1.7 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

This painting is a seascape with a boat going on a journey. I turn 55 years old this year. As I continue on in my life's journey (symbolized by the boat), I know that there will be ups and downs (symbolized by the waves). However, I (outline of the lady in the sail) must always lean against the Cross (the mast), trusting that the Lord Jesus is my Shalom Navigator who goes before me and will be beside me. I have always been a type A person, wanting to be in control. I must, instead, completely place my hope and trust in Jesus.

In dark times, when life seems shattered and tears fall, we can cling onto God’s Promise that we will dance again – dance with child-like faith through the rain.

God’s Provision

Artist: Kelvin Seah Choon Hock
Dimensions: 59.5 x 42 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Watercolour & Ink

It is God`s heart to bless and provide us with every provision. Sometimes our prayer may seem like it is not answered, that He did not hear us. However, we need to understand that God's timing and ours is different and He is always on time even though it may feel last minute (to us). In my opinion, God prefers to wait until the last minute to answer our prayers to bring about His will and His purpose for us.

God promises I am not alone during my Recovery Journey

Artist: Annastazia Tay S. B
Dimensions: 45.5 x 35.5 x 1.8 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic & Paper Quilling

God promises that I am not alone. My drawing shows dandelions and they represent God’s hope on the road to recovery. The lady is me and I am not alone. I was diagnosed with SLE, lymphoma and liver cirrhosis. During that same period, I experienced depressions and anxiety. Every day, I did not have the mood to do anything. Last month, during my recovery journey, I did my Bible study and did some art. Though the sickness is still with me, and it has led to all parts of my body not functioning well, which was a challenge for me, I never let go of myself. Life is worth living. I love art as it can help me destress, focus and find solutions out of problems! I found joy and contentment inside me as I pass my days – cool and calm! Years passed. Recently, my doctor found out that my thyroid has worsened and referred me to a specialist for further investigation. God is always with me and His promises never fail, so I am looking forward to my recovery. He is forever with me during my sickness.

A Promise of Paradise

Artist: Beverlyn Lagrama Delica
Dimensions: 50.7 x 41 x 0.3 cm
Finishing : Canvas Panel
Medium: Acrylic

When Jesus spoke of this to the thief, he is referring to the same promise God gave to Abraham. (Genesis 22:17-18) Not the kind of paradise that is found on earth but is found in heaven. His Words are hope for all of us sinners. Showing how merciful our God is in this specific event in the Bible is a reminder that despite our grievous sins, we only need to have a repentant heart to receive hope (believe the words of Jesus) and the promise of salvation. The good thief believed so he immediately received his reward. This is a picture of encouragement to all of us, a promise of Paradise.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Artist: Then Ly Ying @ Jacqueline Then
Dimensions: 36.5 x 33 x 22 cm
Finishing : Sculpture
Medium: Mixed Media

Jesus suffered for our salvation. His response to Paul's request to remove his suffering was His sufficient grace, displaying His power through weakness, like a promise of hope for Paul's victory over darkness. A broken vase was chosen to depict a broken body - of Jesus and those who suffered - pouring out their lives in passion as a living sacrifice; bringing hope to others.

On Eagle’s Wings

Artist: Thng Wee Jin
Dimensions: 41.8 x 60 cm
Finishing : Unframed
Medium: Oil Pastel

My piece illustrates God's might and magnificence personified in Eagles. The silhouette of the big eagle is God and the small eagle is man. God promised His daily provision of strength for a believer through life when we fix our eyes upon Him, upon His cross. As we pray unceasingly and trust Him, He will empower us.

A Ram’s Horn

Artist: Tay Shan Chuan Janice
Dimensions: 40.8 x 50.7 x 1.88 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Oil

The ram's horn or shofar is most recognised as a musical instrument to call the people to repentance, for war, to worship and healing. But a ram's horn is also frequently used as an instrument to carry the Oil used in anointing, praying for the sick, for consecration and as a mark of God's spirit upon the person. The believer is to be like a ram's horn - a call to God's salvation - the hope in Christ but also a storage instrument of blessing to others. The purple background is a reminder of our royal priesthood.

Paglaom Always

Artist: Maria Fatima C. Bonao
Dimensions: 31 x 61.5 x 3.6 cm
Finishing : Canvas Board
Medium: Acrylic

Paglaom is a Bisaya (Filipino dialect) word which means Hope. “Paglaom Always” is an abstract illustration of a rainbow in dark hue. We remember the rainbow as a prominent symbol of hope in the Bible. “Paglaom Always” encourages us to hope at all times and cling to the Lord at all cost. God sometimes takes what is perfect and subjects us to a humble status so that a greater good might be accomplished. Take hope! This stage of suffering is merely a transitional period. Trust in His timing and His beautiful plans for you.
