The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, His heart was deeply troubled. (Gen 6: 5-6).He wiped off the earth with flood so as to start afresh.
The dove that Noah from the Ark sent to check on the water level returned with a freshly plucked olive leaf (Gen 8:13). It symbolized new life.
Through Jesus, we are being RECONCILED to God and offered to start afresh. Indeed if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! (2 Cor 5:17)
