The artwork encapsulates Paul’s focus on Christ as his beacon of hope and salvation. Even during times of adversity, persecution and imprisonment, he overcame them through the grace and strength of Christ. Hence, from his story we learn that hardship is merely an opening for God’s power to be displayed, as we are challenged to renounce self and look upwards to Heaven, drawing on God’s limitless strength.
