This painting is a prayerful imagining of me, the sinful woman of Luke 7:36–50, seated at Jesus’s feet. I come rough and raw, yet unafraid. He tells me the love story of my life —a story woven into the continuity of God’s covenant with His people. Black and white evoke the timelessness of God’s mercy, steady through the light and dark figures across Scripture—both the faithful and the flawed. The stark tones highlight the bright glory of the Cross where mercy meets repentance. God’s promises endure, even through human failure. He loves me through and through.
