A strong wind broke out while his disciples were in the boat in the middle of the sea, as they were straining at the oars against the storm.
The storm represents suffering, chaos and intense emotional turmoil as well as unexpected uncertainties believers encounter.
The disciples were frightened by the violent storm that might have caused their lives, yet to see someone walking on the sea. They were terrified and cried in fear because of the ghostly image. However, immediately Jesus spoke with them, Take courage, it is I , do not be afraid. These were the words of comfort from our merciful God. This passage portrays
that God is omnipresent. He knows and sees us in our struggle.
This passage also emphasizes that believers need to recognise Jesus Christ, our Lord God is above all natural law, physic or strange phenomenon activity.
God works in a mysterious way our finite mind is not able to comprehend, thus trusting God completely requires some element of mystery. ( A supernatural faith)
As believers we do face difficulties when serving the Lord.
Words such as peace, do not be afraid, be strong and courageous from the bible helps us to continue trust God completely.
The drawing on the boat represents the last four disciples praying without ceasing for God's intervention.
( Hebrews 13: 5)
People without the true living God will only rely on their own understanding and wisdom in seeking the meaning of life.
