Hineni (“Here I am”) reflects the journey through grief, uncertainty, and unseen struggles. Layered passages of darkness, fractured forms, and emerging light evoke the tension between despair and hope, inspired by the quiet persistence of faith amid adversity. Sparse gold interruptions suggest glimmers of presence and endurance within overwhelming darkness. Created in response to loss and the fragility of life, the work invites viewers to look beyond the immediate shadow toward the possibility of light, even when the full picture cannot yet be seen. Inspired by John 1:5: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
