Introduction to Modern Brush Calligraphy

Modern calligraphy is a new movement where letters are not constructed to obey the rules like those of traditional styles. It is a fusion of styles where rules can be broken and the exploration of personal style is encouraged. In this workshop, you will learn basic calligraphy strokes and letterforms. AJ is a calligrapher based in Cebu City, Philippines who started her calligraphy journey in March 2015. She works as a graphic designer during the day and put on her artist cap whenever she can. Her curiosity and further inquiry into letters led her into practising the rest of the calligraphy disciplines where she learnt to use various pens and brushes. Through everyday practice and showcase, her works started to get noticed by peers and eventually became a Calligraffiti Ambassador. This opened many doors for her and gave opportunities such as working with different brands, becoming a resource speaker, and handling classes / workshops. When not doing calligraphy or graphic design, she likes to eat and take photographs.

Note: Participants are to prepare a brush pen of any kind, paper, and printed guides (that The Colours of the Bible Team will share in advance with all of you in eCopy form to be printed out).
