Matthew 19:14 tells us that Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these"
Jesus is explicit about his love for the little children, who in His eyes, have as much to teach us about our humanity as adults do, regardless of their youth and vulnerability. He loves all children, no matter their age, skin colour, abilities or disabilities.
Jesus commands us to see children as equals, inverting the view of children as property to be exploited or used, or children as beings of less value than adults.
We are called to reflect on how we see children, whether they are included as instrumental parts of society, and if we prize, cherish and celebrate them.
The Lord accepts and adores us. Can we with humility accept all the little children?
