Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers when he was only 17 years old. It was until he interpreted Pharaoh's dream at the age of 30 that he began to rise to position. Over a span of 13 years, he gradually ascended. Years later, during a famine, his brothers went to Egypt seeking food and encountered him. He recognized them and forgave them. He saw everything that had happened as part of God's plan to save more people.
